The “Baltimore Charm” Quilt
“Baltimore Charm” represents the combined efforts of many members of the Baltimore Heritage Quilt Guild. This lovely 66” X 66” quilt, fashioned using colors of the sea and sunrise, showcases an array of quilting techniques including applique, piecing, and foundation piecing.
As our members gathered to discuss and plan the layout of our raffle quilt, we drew inspiration from the 2022 Quiltmania mystery quilt by Irene Blanck. Our creative spirits were further ignited, leading us to include motifs that represent the State of Maryland. Among these motifs are Orioles, Ravens, Checkerspot butterflies, and black-eyed Susans, each symbolizing a unique aspect of Maryland’s rich heritage.
Witnessing the evolution of this beautiful quilt was a thrilling experience. The quilt was meticulously machine-quilted by Marty Vint, a talented member of our guild. Her expert craftsmanship brought our collective vision to life, resulting in a quilt that is both aesthetically pleasing and rich in cultural significance.
