Raffle Quilt 2011

A Tisket A Tasket

A contemporary interpretation of the traditional baskets quilting motif, this quilt was designed and made by members of the Baltimore Heritage Quilters Guild. Drawing for this quilt will be held at the April 2012 meeting. Winner does need to be present.

Selection of the theme fabric, designing a variety of basket blocks, creating the patterns for conventional and paper piecing, writing piecing directions, assembling block kits, piecing blocks, laying out and piecing the top, quilting and then applying double-layer piping, binding, a hanging sleeve and label all took place over a 4 month period of time in 2010.

The theme fabric for the alternate blocks and setting triangles is from the “Proud” collection designed by Kerry Beyer for In the Beginning Fabrics. The wide variety of fabrics in the pieced blocks was selected from fabrics donated by members. Block kits with written directions, paper piecing patterns and fabrics were prepared and distributed.
