In 2010 the National Quilting Association asked local guilds to promote awareness of National Quilting Day by involving the membership in a project. In 2011 BHQG decided to involve members in making quilted postcards and invited every member to make a 4×6 card. These cards would be given to the guild with the idea that they would be used in Sunshine notes for get well and sympathy and for the president to use as thank you notes where appropriate. More than thirty members of the guild contributed postcards to the project, some even giving more than one.
