The first four quilts were donated by the family of Edda Jakubs, a Mount Washington artist and quilter, who had collected these textiles.
Four Patch Quilt
88″ x 88″
Pieced 15″ 4-patch blocks in a variety of cotton fabrics, 2″ sashing. Feedsack backing, batting is a blanket. Hand quilted in Baptist Fan design. There are some age spots/freckles, primarily on the front. Some seams are pulled out and the binding is very worn. Circa 1930′s.
Log Cabin Top
63″ x 66″
Hand pieced. Wide variety of very bright printed fabrics, several fabrics are split, there are some age spots/freckles. Circa 1940s – 1950s.
Indigo Blue Top
75″ x 76″
Hand pieced. Intricate pieced blocks, similar to Carolina Lily, variety of cotton fabrics including shirting. Variety of indigo fabrics in sashing and border. Some seams open, some of the blues are quite light in weight.
Silks and Satins Top
49″ x 55″
Combination of machine pieced nad hand pieced Indian Hatchet blocks in silks, satins, and brocades. Foundation-pieced to muslin. Blocks are stitched together by hand. Blocks are arranged so that the black center strip creates a graphic design. Some of the fabrics are shredded and shattering.

The Cranberry Traditional Hoop
Donated by Carol Caplan, long time guild member
Handcrafted of solid Northern Cherry with a durable, furniture-quality, hard lacquer finish. A universal ball swivel connection between the hoop and stand allows the working surface to be locked at any angle. The hoop may also be locked in a vertical position for storage or display. Pedestal stand is 32 inches tall; 2 hoops included, 34″ diameter and 18″ diameter. Original price $189 for stand and 34″ hoop.
