Guild Activities
2010 Charity Project - Woodbrook Baptist Church
For several years we have been meeting at the Woodbrook Baptist Church. This year we have decided to make them the recipients of our charity quilts.
Members are being asked to donate lap sized quilts for the church to give to its adopted families. Instructions for Quilt-As-You-Go quilts can be found here.
2009 Charity Project - House of Ruth
The recipients of the Charity Quilts for 2009-2010 are the women and children served by The House of Ruth, one of the nation’s leading domestic violence centers, helping thousands of battered women and their children find the safety and security that so many of us take for granted.
The House of Ruth has been providing services in Baltimore for nearly three decades and is always there for victims of domestic violence. BHQG hopes that the quilts and pillows we donate will bring these women and their children comfort of both body and spirit.
Requirements:
Quilt size – any size from 26” x 48” (crib quilt) up to 52” x 78” (lap robe) would be appropriate. Pillows and pillowcases are also acceptable. All colors and themes acceptable
Finished quilts would be appreciated but if you are unable to finish yours bring the top to a guild meeting and we’ll get it finished for you. If you would be willing to finish a quilt for someone else, please let Toni Killefer or Amanda Graham know.
